OUR PROGRAMS

Children and Youth Program

We provide access to educational theatre that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. Despite our district’s exemplary rating, there is little theatre arts curriculum prior to the 6th grade. We address the gap and increase access for ages where it is most impactful, helping our local kids to become artists, allies, leaders, and critical thinkers.

Community Theatre for All

Meteor Theatre was borne in 2017 as an answer to the question "Why doesn't Dripping Springs have a community theater?"

In 2018, we had our first musical theatre summer camp with seven children attending. In 2023, nearly 225 children joined us at camp! 100% of Meteor Theatre's camp program proceeds have gone towards the establishment and inaugural production of the community theatre for all in Dripping Springs.

In November 2023, the hilarious Mama Won't Fly took Meteor Theatre's stage for a three week run. Over 500 neighbors joined us under the oaks. And finally, Dripping Springs has a community theatre.

The Art House

Meteor Theatre has partnered with Visual Arts division of the Arts Alliance of Central Texas (AAAoCT) to further their mission in promoting and encouraging creative endeavors and developing art appreciation and visual literacy. Meteor Theatre will provide a space for both creating and displaying art created by local residents as well as a home for exhibitions and juried art shows. Workshops begin summer 2024.

Linda's Creek

Meteor Theatre acquired our permanent home, located in the heart of Dripping Springs, in November 2022. Located under towering oaks and adjacent to a wet weather creek, our outdoor stage is truly a magical place in the making.

Linda, a good friend and volunteer at Meteor Theatre, saw the potential of the site and immediately went to work clearing overgrown brush and years of debris from the creek as well as trimming the majestic oaks. Linda has created a beautiful and functional bridge (made completely of found and repurposed materials) spanning the creek with a large, rustic firepit a reward at the end of the sojourn.

Stay tuned for more improvements in "Linda's Creek". It is our goal to continue the riparian restoration as well as landscape the site in native and adapted plants, wildflowers, resident pollinators, and other hidden gems to delight and amaze our visitors.
